Photography

I’ve started practicing photography seriously in 1984. At first, it was a hobby. I learned the basic techniques from shooting to the dark room. I started as a professional in 1994 and I’m still doing it. My professional work covers pretty much everything (commercial, corporate and private).

This website does not cover my professional work although the same techniques and style could be used on a job. This site is about my photography work as an art form. This is what I like to do. This is my vision.

Because of my personality, my life experiences and other factors, I’ve been attracted to darkness early on. Darkness is not evil or depressing necessarily. I am definitely a night owl and the dark hours are my favorite ones, although I do love the hour before dawn during the Summer which has the same qualities as night but with a touch of very soft light.

Darkness is not only the lack or absence of light. It is also a calm and soothing environment which facilitates the intimacy required to let the deepest and most secret aspects of our souls out. Of course, it is also the evil half of ourselves in which a totally different energy can be found. A different form of love is also found there.

So, this is what I’m looking for, with my camera. This special intimate moment in the eyes of a model when the light, no matter its nature, goes out. This is why I am now concentrating more on portraits than anything else.

If you are returning to my site since it has been completely redone, you will find out that most of its former content is gone. I did this because I feel I must now focus all my efforts on the art form and style I love.

You will find here my favorite pictures. The ones I consider to be the best or that represent something important to me. Most are portraits but some cover rock bands, landscapes, architecture or other things.
